When a dear Facebook friend drew my attention to these shoes I ordered them same day. Brazilian brand Melissa are famous for their signature “jelly” shoes with tiny peep toe designs, and for their brand collaborations with some major players – including these by Karl Lagerfeld inspired by his very famous cat Choupette.
Choupette, a beautiful 4 year old Birman, is an internet sensation in her own right – with well over a hundred thousand followers on Twitter and Instagram. As well as appearing in many fashion shoots, she has inspired several of Chanel Head Designer Karl’s endeavours including this range for Melissa.

I purchased these shoes not long before our dear Miss Soho passed away and she helped me shoot them for this post. I’m always struck by just how much they remind me of her – from the big blue eyes and pink nose to the turned down pink mouth – they bring back memories of my gorgeous girl and make me smile every time I wear them.
