It was my birthday this week and one of the highlights of my awesome day was a trip to I Scream Nails in Newtown (Sydney).  Disneyland aside, I’m pretty sure this is one of the happiest places on earth.  The staff are wonderful – super fun to be around and extremely talented peeps!  My appointment was with Debbie, who seemed to enjoy doing custom portraits of my cats on my tiny fingernails as much as I enjoyed receiving them! All of their designs are hand painted – no stickers here.

I Scream Nails have a fabulous menu of standard designs and colours but the artists are so clever that they are happy to customise a design from any references you bring in. Incredibly, Debbie meticulously replicated each of my kitties in under 50 minutes total with time to spare for a few love hearts and polka dots.

Throughout my appointment I chatted with Debbie and the lovely receptionist Stacy about cats, art, tattoos and the joys of life in Newtown. It was an absolutely delightful way to spend a part of my special day.
